LeapFrog LeapStages™ Infant Learning System Review
LeapFrog LeapStages™ Infant Learning System Feature
Many play gyms lose their usefulness once baby can reach up and grab the toys. The LeapStages infant learning system, on the other hand, continues to engage babies up until 18 months or so, with an evolving series of activities and configurations. Structured so an infant can lie underneath and bat and kick at toys, the system is also sturdy enough for babies to sit at and toddlers to stand in front of. A combination of musical, verbal, and imagery activities presented in a series of four interchangeable screens help kids develop important skills and aptitudes as they grow.
Each slide-out screen is suited to a different age and development level. The first stage, for infants, uses classical music, contrasting patterns, and light-up shapes for visual and brain development. Stage two features baby photos, twinkling lights, and recorded baby sounds for vocal and social learning. In the third stage, babies who can sit up play with touch-responsive lights and phonetic sounds to develop connections between words and things. In the final stage, suited to little ones over a year, dancing lights and sing-along songs enhance memory and language skills. Sturdily made and easy to use, the LeapStages system runs on three AA batteries and includes volume control. Simple assembly is required. --Emily Bedard
